Brief Bio
I am Poulami. I am currently enrolled as a PhD scholar at Centre of Behavioural and Cognitive Sciences. I am working on developing a Neurologic Music Therapy that can bring neuroplastic changes in subtype specific Parkinson's patients to provide better movement management as well as betterment in executive functions. Prior to this I completed my Msc in Cognitive Neuroscience from the same institute with a focus on Computational Neuroscience and Brain-Computer Interface. I also completed my Msc thesis on Bayesian discrimination of Perceptual Decision Making,a study based on data obtained from primates. My bachelor's degree is in Physics, Mathematics and Statistics with a focus on Mathematical physics, thermodynamics, Special theory of relativity and Quantum mechanics. My research interests extends from Neurodegenerative disorders, neuroimaging, Neurologic Music Therapy to Time Perception, game theory and Ethical Decision Making.

SCOPE
Diffusion Tensor Imaging is a common practice in functional magnetic resonance imaging. While handling the medical images, in many cases it is important to observe the neuroplastic changes in specific tracts in both patients and healthy controls. It helps in understanding whether any provided theraputic intervention is genuinely helping the patients through plastic development. It also helps in case of healthy controls to understand if any specific training causes neuroplastic variations in the brain. In both cases it is also important to look into specific white matter tracts if those are region of interests. TBSS (Tract Based Spatial Statistics) helps us in finding the plastic changes in our tracts of interest. This helps in targetted treatments and interventions.

- Diffusion Tensor Imaging
- Functional Neuroimaging
- Task Based fmri Studies
