Gaited
2026
2 - 4 March, 2026 - Marbella, Spain
Within the 19th International Joint Conference on Biomedical Engineering Systems and Technologies - BIOSTEC 2026
CHAIR
SCOPE
Accurate identification of initial contact (IC) and final contact (FC) during human activity is essential for extracting meaningful spatiotemporal gait parameters (SGP). This special session focuses on recent advances in the detection and analysis of gait events using signal processing techniques, particularly in wearable and mobile settings.
TOPICS OF INTEREST
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
- Novel algorithms for IC/FC detection
- Accurate SGP estimation from wearable sensors
- Benchmarking methods using motion capture and/or force plate ground truth
- AI approaches to gait cycle analysis
- Multimodal fusion of signals (IMU, video, EMG, pressure insoles, etc.)
- Clinical validation and use cases in rehabilitation and/or sports
- Real-time gait monitoring and feedback systems
