CHAIR
SCOPE
The special session MEDSIMOC is dedicated to broadly understood issues of search for similar cases (objects) and outlier detection in large data sets, including big data. There are no limits for the kind of data: numeric, textual, mixed, or images.Similar cases and detection of outliers are the basis for decision-making processes, classification, diagnosis, treatment decisions, grouping, etc. The problems encompasses a wide spectrum of existing methods, and an innovative use of them, as well as innovative approaches are welcome. MEDSIMOC session is an opportunity to identify new research directions and presentation of original research results. It is also an opportunity for exchanging and diffusing innovative and practical experience in this field.
The scope of MEDSIMOC 2019 includes, but is not limited to the following issues:
• Probabilistic and statistical models for identification of similar and outlier cases
• Features selection for data mining and machine learning
• Similar cases in data mining methods and outlier mining methods
• Similar cases and outlier detection based on distance, density, depth, deviation etc.
• Similar cases and outlier detection in categorical, text, mixed attribute data, stream data, image and image sequences
• Identification similar cases and outlier detection in big data
• Evolutionary algorithms for similar cases and outlier detection
• Multi-label and fuzzy classification
• Intelligent strategies, and fusion of methods
• Visualization
• Applications in biomedicine and healthcare
